Gridlock Access Management System

ProTel Solutions are proud to announce the launch of the new Gridlock Access Management System at Counter Terror Expo this April.

The Gridlock System is a centralised access management system for controlling access to remote locations. The Gridlock system provides geographical views and GPS positioning of all remote locations and utilities locking mechanisms, wireless communications and radio frequency identification technology (RFID), to secure these remote locations. Access to remote locations becomes entirely permission-based, providing a high level of security as well as a complete record of all access transactions.

The Gridlock system has been designed in a generic configuration to enable it to be applied to different access management applications. The remote Gridlocks supplied are generic in design, which allows for easy adaptation to existing infrastructure in different applications areas. These currently include applications for the locking of manholes and equipment containers, pump stations, power substations, high voltage transformers, access tunnels or any location where there is a requirement to control access in real time.

The Gridlock system is an effective barrier against crime in exposed and remote environments. It provides an extremely high level of security and can be monitored and controlled on a global basis.

ProTel Sign European Distributor Agreement with MIST Innovations Inc

MIST Innovations Announces ProTel Solutions

European Distributor of MistOnDemand II

ProTel Solutions to unveil MoD II to European Market at London’s Counter Terror Expo in April

Detroit, Mich. March 16, 2010—MIST Innovations, Inc., a leader in developing network security monitoring devices, announced today that ProTel Solutions, a UK-based telecom company, will become their European distributor of its latest security solution, MIST on Demand II (MoD II). MIST Innovations, Inc. President Larry Smith made the announcement.

The innovative security system, launched in June, 2008, provides businesses complete, convenient and secure access to their video surveillance system via their smart phone or personal digital assistant (PDA) at a significantly reduced cost.

ProTel will have their initial opportunity to introduce and demonstrate MoD II at the Counter Terror Expo in London, England April 14th and 15th. ProTel will be running live product demonstrations of MoD II for the duration of the two-day event.

MoD II combines video surveillance and mobile PDA phone technologies allowing users to dial into their existing security system at any time to watch real-time, streaming video of their businesses. Clients can switch between cameras, showing one location or even look at multiple locations using the product. Additionally, MoD II transmits a picture only when the customer dials into the system, so it does not tie up the cellular network.

“We have found a tremendous partner in ProTel to bring MoD II to the European market,” said Smith. “The attendees of the Counter Terror Expo will be amazed at how our system can assist in the prevention and protection of terrorists globally.”

The Counter Terror Expo is the largest exhibition and conference of its kind in the UK April 14-15, 2010 at National Hall, Olympia, London. The show will be a range of security solutions which help counter the threat of international terrorism.

Omnitrons NEW iConverter T1/E1 Multiplexer

The New Omnitron iConverter T1/E1 MUX/M multiplexes up to sixteen T1 or E1 circuits and one 10/100/1000 Ethernet service onto a fibre optic transport link, and features remotely managed testing and configuration capabilities.

The iConverter T1/E1 MUX/M operates in a back-to-back configuration, and can be used in applications such as multiple T1/E1 extension, mobile backhaul and building-to-building PBX connectivity.

The T1/E1 copper interfaces are available in 4, 8, 12 or 16 RJ-48 port configurations for balanced T1/E1 applications. Optional adapter cables are available to convert each RJ-48 interface to a BNC interface for unbalanced E1 transport applications.

Additional hot-swappable 4-Port T1/E1 MUX modules can be installed to increase system capacity up to 16 T1/E1 ports maximum per 1U (1.75 inch) chassis.

The T1/E1 MUX/M is available with fixed-fibre or Small Form Pluggable (SFP) transceivers, enabling easy adaptability to different fibre types, distances and wavelengths. The T1/E1 MUX/M supports multimode, single-mode, single-mode single-fibre in standard (850nm, 1310nm and 1550nm) and CWDM wavelengths.

The T1/E1 MUX/M features user-selectable local loop-back on both the copper and fibre ports, remote fibre loop-back and circuit test modes. These features facilitate testing of the remote unit, and minimize the need for test equipment and support personnel. Alarm relays and LEDs provide fault notification for loss of power, LOS and AIS.

Configuration of T1/E1 line codes, line build out, loopbacks and circuit test is accomplished via local serial port, Telnet or DIP-switches.

The 1U high iConverter T1/E1 MUX/M chassis can be mounted in a 19-inch or 23-inch rack and features two load-sharing power supplies. It supports hot-swappable universal AC, 24VDC or 48VDC power supplies for power redundancy.
